High-Altitude Coffee

From Central Valley to Your Cup

Specialty coffee grown in the highlands of Costa Rica

A Legacy Forged in Volcanic Ash

Finca Santa Elena, in Carrizal de Alajuela, cultivates the finest coffee in Costa Rica's Central Valley, an area where the Irazú, Barva, and Poás volcanoes are iconic landmarks. Its fertile soils, formed from volcanic ash and other materials, are dark in color, have low apparent density, high porosity, a great capacity for water retention, and are highly fertile. The highest elevations reach 1600 meters above sea level.

A coffee with excellent cupping qualities, a chocolatey flavor, high and very fine acidity, a very good body, and an intense fruity aroma; overall, it is an exceptionally well-balanced cup of coffee.

"Every bean tells a story of our land, of hands that nurture, and of a sun that embraces each harvest."
